DUO Heather Beard and Megan Skillern picked up medals for Droitwich Spa Judo Kan at the East Midlands Area Open in Leicestershire.
Competing in the under-50kgs section at the event held at Heath Lane Academy in Earl Shilton, Beard showed excellent knowledge and understanding of the sport in her debut competition.
After fighting off the nerves, she managed to pick up a bronze medal.
Then in the over-50kgs category, Skillern, who is supported by Rivers Fitness at Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre, fought with determination and a lot of focus to secure gold.
A Droitwich Spa Judo Kan spokesperson said: “We, as a club, have had a fair amount of success over the few months and are so pleased that we have a great bunch of kids that all support one another.”
