YOUNGSTERS from Chawson First School were given an interesting insight into life in the Stone Age when they were visited by re-enactment group Portals to the Past.
The children from year four, who are aged eight and nine, found out what life was like in the era, learnt how to hunt a woolly mammoth and checked out some artefacts from the age including a real mammoth bone.
They were also given the chance to play some Stone Age music.
Pupil Drew Hancox said: “It was the best time I have had at Chawson.”
Lily Smith added: “I liked taking part in the quiz.”
And Abigail Plant said she enjoyed playing the Stone Age musical instruments.
A spokesperson for the school said: “The children had a great day and loved all the activities.”
