AN APPEAL has been issued by Droitwich Methodist Church for people to help pack boxes for the annual Operation Christmas Child appeal and for more toys.
Tomorrow will be the annual packing day where members will gather at the church on Worcester Road.
There will be plenty of tea and coffee for the helpers and there will also be a cake stall, a bring and buy stall and a book stalls to help raise funds for the transportation of the boxes.
Co-ordinator Jean Shail said: ‘’Last year, the church was buzzing as people gathered to help fill over 300 shoeboxes with gifts which had been donated throughout the year.
“Let’s hope it will be another record year in 2017.’’
Fellow co-ordinator David Shail said so far everything was going to plan – shoeboxes had been wrapped and people had been generous with their donations.
“But at the moment we are still short of toys and play things for all age groups and would like to put one with the wow factor in each box.
“Younger children appreciate any vehicles especially if they wind up and move while older ones enjoy games like dominoes and other games, such as yo yos and skipping ropes etc.”
Anyone who wants to donate but cannot make the event should email [email protected] .
