THERE will be a festive feast served up at Wychbold Community Hall on Christmas Day when the area holds its first ever community lunch.
A small group of residents got together last month to start planning the event for the elderly, lonely, divorced, separated or people that, for one reason or another, would like to attend.
And, after high profile appeals in the Bromsgrove and Droitwich Standards, the organisers were inundated with people and organisations donating items for the meal and performers offering to provide entertainment.
Tina Dutson, who had the idea for the lunch and is one of the organising group, said between 30 and 40 people would be enjoying the Christmas dinner.
“People have been so generous and so much has been donated for the event.”
She added this was just the pilot event and she and the others hoped to hold the event again next year.
“It has been a learning curve but the response has been amazing.
“It shows the Christmas spirit is alive and thriving in Bromsgrove and Droitwich.”
