Royal Mail apologises over Droitwich delivery problem after residents raise concerns

CONCERNS have been raised about the postal delivery service to Droitwich in the past week.

A resident who lives in Ledwych Road contacted The Standard about the issue, saying she had not seen a postman or woman in the area for over a week.

“My neighbours and other residents have also said they haven’t seen anyone delivering so I think it could be a problem affecting the whole of Droitwich, maybe even the whole of Worcestershire.”

The resident contacted the Royal Mail and said she was told there was a backlog of mail and problems with delivery.

A Royal Mail spokesperson told The Standard: “In some areas there have been some delays to deliveries over the past week or so as a result of the impact of weather, particularly in Worcestershire.

“We apologise to those customers affected by this.

“Royal Mail has robust contingency plans in place and deliveries in Droitwich are now back to normal.

“All our postmen and women in our mail centres and on delivery are working around the clock to deliver Christmas for our customers.

“People concerned about deliveries can contact our customer service for further information on 03457 740740 or go to www.RoyalMail.com/serviceupdates.”
