A POPULAR meeting centre which supports people with dementia and their families will relaunch at the end of the month.
Droitwich Spa Meeting Centre, based at the town’s rugby club, will return on February 28 after forming a new partnership with Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire and securing sufficient funding for a year on a full-time basis.
The much-valued service offers a specialised programme for people with dementia including informative discussion groups, support with practical, emotional and social issues and regular one-to-one advice.
The relaunch will be at 12pm at Droitwich Rugby Club and guests can drop in between 11.30am and 1.30pm.
Trustee Mike Watts, said: “This is a great opportunity to meet the members, trustees of the centre, staff and specialist activity providers.
“Visitors can find out more about this international dementia model, how to refer and the benefits of using the centre for the people of Droitwich.”
The Droitwich Spa Centre, open from 10.30am to 3.30pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, does however need more funds to secure its long-term future.
