DROITWICH Civic Society is inviting visitors to its AGM at 7.30pm tomorrow (Friday) at Sacred Heart Church Hall, writes Tom Banner.
As part of a wider campaign to promote its role, first time visitors will be welcomed free to the February, March or April meetings.
As part of the campaign leaflets detailing upcoming meetings have been distributed and are available from Droitwich Library, the Heritage Centre or the Old Library Comminity Resource Centre.
At the AGM the society will look back over the last year and elect officers for the coming one.
David Morgan, Chief Officer for the Worcestershire Garden Scheme, will give a talk after the meeting and there will be refreshments.
Tickets for the talk and refreshments are £10 per person, available from Helen Pew on 01905 773166.
Stuart Haywood, President of the Civic Society, said: “More recently, the society has lobbied hard and with some success for improvements in the High Street which is now more pedestrian friendly, it has had an input into the discussions for the redevelopment of the old Baxendon site.
“I believe such contributions by the Civic Society make a real difference and one will which benefit all.”
Committee Member Chris Bowers, said new members were always welcome to join at any time of year for talks and (space permitting) summer visits.
Annual membership to the Civic Society costs £8 per year and usually £3 per meeting.
Summer trips are charged depending on costs.
