POLICE are trying to track down two people who were seen running from Droitwich’s Raven Hotel which is contaminated with asbestos.

The pair were spotted leaving the building on Victoria Square which they are believed to have been inside of.

They fled from the Worcester Road side just before 2.30pm yesterday (Sunday).

Officers from West Mercia Police attended and it was at that point the pair ran off.

Supt Tom Harding said it was important to identify the individuals not only to find out who they were but to warn them of the precautionary measures they need to take after potentially being in contact with asbestos.

“Although they do not need to seek medical attention, we advise these people to ensure that they thoroughly wash themselves, the clothes and shoes they have been wearing and anyone they have been in contact with should do the same.

“Any fabrics or materials they have been in contact with should be washed and advice should be sought from asbestos specialists in relation to anything else that may have been in contact with the individuals.

“This premises is cordoned off for very good reason and I would urge the two individuals or anyone who may know who they are to ensure they are informed of this advice.”

He said he strongly urged anyone else thinking about trespassing at The Raven to consider their actions and to heed the police’s warning.

Witnesses or anyone with any information on who the two people were should call police on 101.
