THE NEW chairperson of Droitwich Arts Network said she had big plans for the town’s creative arts community for the coming year, writes Nicole Chivers.
With lots of events, demonstrations, visits and involvement planned into the calendar for the public and the arts community, Helen Karakasian said she was working hard to build on the strong foundation left by her predecessor Peter Hawkins.
Intermingled with social events and fund-raising activities, the local schools and community will be involved on a variety of projects.
Upon her election, Helen about the previous chair said: “Peter worked tirelessly for Droitwich Arts Network.
“I intend to build on this strong foundation and reach out to all the local clubs and societies covering a wide spectrum of the arts, and encourage increased interaction.”
Planned activities include textiles, pottery, painting, wood carving, knitting, writing and quilting among other type of crafts.
Visits to art galleries, theatres and other intriguing places of interest are also on the agenda.
