A SERIES of free ‘show and tell’ antique sessions will be held at Hanbury’s Jinney Ring for people who want to find out more about their jewellery, silver and watches.

Geoff Whitefield, a fellow of the Institute of Registered Valuers, will be providing insights and advice at the craft centre between 11am to 4pm from today to Sunday.

The sessions will be held at Galantique, a new antiques and collectibles studio at the Jinney Ring, which showcases items that form part of Britain’s manufacturing history, including those produced in the industrial centres of the West Midlands.

Mr Whitefield, who has 25 years’ experience and has acted as a consultant for the BBC, said: “I always try to provide an insight into the social and stylistic influences around a piece, as well as giving an idea of value.

“Hopefully a few people will be in for a nice surprise.”
