Police issue warning to Droitwich shoppers after two distraction purse thefts within minutes

SHOPPERS in Droitwich are being warned to be on their guard after two distraction thefts in the town centre.

The first happened between 10.45am and 11.05am on Saturday when the woman was in a clothes shop in Victoria Square.

A man stood close to her and she felt like she was knocked a few times.

When she got to the till she noticed her rucksack was open and her purse had been taken.




The red leather purse which had a bow on the front contained £100 in cash, along with various bank and store cards.

In the second in St Andrews Square at 11.15am on the same day an elderly woman noticed a man standing very close to her.


When she moved away and went to the till she discovered that her purse was missing from her handbag.

The man was a tanned foreign male with a moustache. He was wearing a baseball cap and a bomber jacket.
