DROITWICH skipper James Shewell wants to end the season in style after clinching the Midlands Two West (South) title with a game to spare.
The Monners’ emphatic victory 75-5 victory at winless Old Yardleians secured back-to-back league crowns for the Glyn Mitchell Memorial Ground side.
With the final game of the season against Evesham tomorrow (Saturday) back in front of the Droitwich faithful, Shewell has warned his players not to take their foot off the gas.
“To have won the league felt like a massive relief as it has felt like forever to seal the deal,” he said.
“It’s a time to reflect as it is a fantastic achievement and I am immensely proud of everyone that has been a part of it all.
“The concentration to keep winning big games, especially away from home, has been great.
“But it is not over yet and with the chance to play in front of our home crowd for one last time this season we want to send them home happy.
“We want to put on a show for them.”
Nico Mason (2), Charlie Yipp (2), Luke Topping, Rob Poke, Louie Ellesmore, Phil Horton, Bradley Smith, Sean Walker, Brad Cook, Russell Brown and James Dawson got the tries against Old Yardleians.
Bobby Scott-Walker slotted over five conversions in the rout.
