OMBERSLEY Endowed First School and Nursery and Ombersley Play Area Action Group (OPAAG) held a royal wedding fund-raiser over the weekend.

There sponsored walk and vintage cream tea took place at Ombersley Memorial Hall on Sunday afternoon and also featured traditional children’s games and stalls.

The 5k walk took participants through the scenic Ombersley countryside.

Susannah Perkins, chair of OPAAG, told The Standard: “It all went brilliantly.

“There was such a good atmosphere.”

The event has raised £1,000 so far but there is still the sponsored walk cash to come in.

And the organisers are hoping the total will be match-funded, boosting the coffers further.
