Could your workplace take part in this summer's sailing challenge?

COLLEAGUES across Bromsgrove and Droitwich are being invited to test their skills on the water this summer as part of the ‘Workplace Sailing Challenge’.

It has been launched in the country for the first time and is an exiting opportunity for anyone who has ever wanted to start sailing.

The challenge has been set up with help from Aztec Adventure at Upton Warren.

Aztec Adventure is a RYA Training Centre which is giving co-workers from local companies the chance to sign up and get sailing.

A maximum of three colleagues per team are permitted to make things safe and fair.

The first six-weeks will only be about learning to sail and getting used to life on the water.

After the training it will be time to put the new sailing skills to the test – with each team battling it out to be crowned ‘Challenge Champions’.

Gareth Brookes, RYA Midlands Regional Development Officer, said: “Sailing is a great way to switch off and get active outdoors while enjoying the significant physical and social benefits the sport brings.

“By connecting with companies and employees across Worcestershire we hope to show how easy and fun it is to get afloat locally after a busy day at work.”

The Workplace Sailing Challenge gets underway in Worcestershire in the first week of June and costs £99 per person, which includes all kit and equipment needed.
