Droitwich residents can find out more about Wychavon's 'Feeling Fitter' sessions today

A NEW 12-week ‘Feeling Fitter’ programme will take place in Droitwich aimed at getting people to be more active.

A drop-in information session about the programme, which is being funded by Wychavon District Council, will take place at 2pm tomorrow (Saturday) at Westlands Community Hall.

The sessions, for those who meet the criteria, will begin at 2pm at the hall on Thursday, July 12.

As part of the programme, there will be regular monitoring of weight, blood pressure, BMI, hip/waist ratio, activity levels and wellness so participants can track their progress.

There will also be incentives, including free activities at Droitwich Leisure Centre for those who complete four consecutive sessions.

Those completing seven or more sessions, as well as completing the baseline six and 12-week measures, could earn a free 12-week membership at the leisure centre.

Coun Gerry O’Donnell, Wychavon’s portfolio holder for health improvement, said: “The whole programme itself is free to people who are inactive but would benefit from an exercise-based programme of activity.”

He added places were limited so it was important people turned up tomorrow.

For more information, call Nigel Grundy at Droitwich Leisure Centre on 01905 771212.
