Droitwich spice lovers urged to head to Morrisons for their hottest curry - the Flaming Fiery Phaal

LOVERS of hot curries in Droitwich will be in their element at Morrisons after the supermarket giant launched its ‘eight chilli-rated’ Flaming Fiery Phaal.

The scorching dish includes three types of chilli, including the infamous ‘Scorpion’ which helps the dish top the Scoville Heat Scale used for rating spiciness.

Bosses sought the hotter recipe after they were urged by those who can handle the high heat to create a recipe even hotter than their Volcanic Vindaloo, sold by the supermarket in July.

The search for a recipe almost too hot to handle brought chefs to Birmingham, home of one of the fieriest and most challenging curry recipes in the world.

Matt Dunkers, at Morrisons Droitwich, said: “We love to hear back from customers and were happy to take on the challenge.

“The difficulty when making a phaal is to make sure it’s got as much flavour as it has heat but we think we’ve pulled it off!”

The fiery feast can be found at Morrisons in Rubery, Bromsgrove and Droitwich as well as across the country to mark Curry Week this week.

It will cost heat-hungry customers £2.
