TEN Droitwich Spa cricketers have been selected for Worcestershire’s winter programme after coming through a successful trials process at Malvern College.
After a full season in Spa’s first team, which saw him take 25 wickets and hit his maiden first team half-century, 15-year-old Matthew Gurr has been picked for the county’s U17s.
Harry Butler, Sam Smith and Jonny Sullivan won through from the U13s while leg-spinner James Cowlard was selected for the U10s.
Five players have been picked for the county’s girls teams as Droitwich highlighted its status as a Women’s & Girls Hub Club for cricket in Worcestershire.
The successful girls are Ava Clive and Olivia Odell (U11s), Charlotte and Ellie Roberts (U12s) and Hattie Cowlard (U13s).
