A RARE and elaborate medieval roof finial discovered during an archaeological dig in Droitwich has gone on display at the town’s Heritage Centre.
The finial was found in 1999 and donated to the centre in 2017 as it is the only example of its kind in the country.
Droitwich artist Alan Davey has produced an interpretive replica which has also gone on display to show how the finial would have looked when it was new.
The is also the opportunity to see other medieval items at the centre which is free and opens between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 1.30pm on Saturday.
