Droitwich's Norbury Theatre to host All England Theatre Festival quarter-final this weekend

THERE will be great plays aplenty when the quarter finals of the All England Theatre Festival comes to Droitwich’s Norbury Theatre tomorrow.

There will be six pieces performed over two sessions.

At 2pm Bert by David Pitt will be staged by the Hollybush Arts Club which won the Worcestershire Festival, and Mayhem Theatre’s Silver Wedding by John Bowen, the runner-up in the county. Bringing down the curtain on the afternoon will be the Herefordshire runner-up, Colwall Players’ The Allotment by Gillian Plowman.

The 7pm collection will open up with Richard Pett’s A Fight to the Death performed by the Ledbury Amateur Dramatic Society which was runner-up in the Herefordshire competition.




Next up will be Irruption Theatre’s My Name Is by Aniruddha Chakravarti – runner-up in the Birmingham competition.

And last will be the winner of the Birmingham heat – Circle Players’ Sparrows, written by Charles Mander.
