SHOPPERS in Droitwich are being warned to be on their guard after purse thefts in the town centre.
In the first incident in St Andrews Square between midday and 1pm today, a purse was stolen from a handbag.
The owner had used the purse to take a coin out for a trolley at the Morrisons supermarket and when she went to use it again it was gone.
It was a long purse, dark blue or black and contained various bank cards and cash.
Then at Waitrose on The Saltway at midday a woman reached for her purse to pay for her shopping and found it had gone.
That purse was pink and purple, leather and contained various cards, a bus pass and cash.
Witnesses or anyone with any information on the thefts should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
