New Year, same leaders as Mid-West Premiership resumes

Droitwich Editorial 9th Jan, 2020   0

THE RETURN of the Mid-West Premiership brought no change at the top following the first set of 2020 fixtures in the Droitwich Pool League.

Table-topping Barley Mow racked up their 13th win of the campaign with a 6-3 success over The Dovey – who drop to ninth – to extend their lead to 15 points.

Masons All Chalked Up stay on a title-charge in second after a crucial win against Pillar of Salt by five frames to four, while The Salt ‘n’ Asbo’s are a point behind third-placed Never in Salted after a victory by the same scoreline against The Doverdale Arms.

The result of the week was undoubtedly The Pillar of Dreams’ 9-0 whitewash of strugglers The Star & Garter, enough to move them into fifth.

A narrow 5-4 victory for DWMC took them past Wessie Wanderers, while The Hop Pole had little problem in disposing of Rifle No Mans 7-2 – earning them revenge for a 5-4 defeat earlier in the season.
