Talk on medieval cathedrals to be given in Droitwich

Droitwich Editorial 28th Feb, 2020   0

MEDIEVAL cathedrals will be the subject at the next Droitwich History and Archaeology Society meeting.

Keith Cattell will be giving an illustrated talk about the buildings which were built on shallow foundations when cranes and hoists were not available.

Among the places locally with medieval cathedrals are Worcester, Gloucester, Hereford and Lichfield.

The breath-taking buildings, which have stood for centuries, were constructed at a time when religion was a main focus of society and much power and control was invested in the church.

Keith’s talk is at 7.30pm on Wednesday, March 4, in the John Corbett Room, Droitwich Community Hall, Heritage Way.

Admission is £2 for members and £4 for friends and visitors.
