FOOD producers from developing countries will continue to be given a helping hand by Droitwich shoppers after the town retained its FairTrade status.
The Droitwich FairTrade group has been presented with the certificate which runs between now and 2022.
Coun Nathan Griffiths, Droitwich FairTrade chair, said he was delighted the town had made the grade.
“I’m really pleased we were able to secure the renewal of the status despite the ongoing issues with Covid-19.
“Hopefully this can be something the town can be proud of during these difficult times.
“We would not have been able to secure the status without the efforts of the previous FairTrade committee which worked so hard in the years prior to the new one taking over.”
The group is planning to get more active when it is safe to do so and urged anyone else wanting to be involved with Droitwich FairTrade to email [email protected] or find the group on Facebook.
