CHILDREN at St Peter’s C of E Academy in Droitwich were challenged to ‘dare to be different’ and ‘stand out from the crowd’ when they came to school on the last day before half-term.

Pupils took advantage and turned up with crazy hairstyles, painted nails, odd socks, brightly coloured clothing and temporary tattoos.

The day had been organised by the St Peter’s PTA who had asked for a small donation from those taking part and the funds raised would be reinvested back into the school for the benefit of all of the children in the St Peter’s community.

Headteacher Tracey O’Keeffe-Pullan said “By daring to be different we are encouraging our children to value their individuality and to value the individuality of others.

“The things that make us different are the things that make us special and are to be celebrated.

“Today has added extra colour and energy to the last day of term and has also helped raise funds for the school.

“Thank you to everyone taking part and a big thank you to our PTA for their work in supporting St Peter’s.”
