Historic Willow Court Farmhouse, Droitwich hosts open afternoon for Heritage Open Days

Droitwich Editorial 12th Sep, 2021   0

THE Willow Court Farmhouse ‘Safe as Houses’ project are holding an activity afternoon on Saturday 18th September between 1-4pm as part of the national Heritage Open Days initiative.

A selection of fun, Tudor themed activities will be delivered by Lady Lypett’s Household and the project archaeologist, Tim Cornah will be on hand to share what we know about the history of the building.

The afternoon will have free entry and will take place at Westlands Centre at Meadow Way, Droitwich, WR9 9BF.

Willow Court Farmhouse, known previously as Boycott Farm is a grade II listed building hidden away in a residential area of Droitwich.

Little is known about this local landmark, which has been uninhabited for decades, Worcestershire Building Preservation Trust has taken on the challenge to conserve the building, record its history and create six new affordable flats for rent.

Whilst visitors will be unable to enter the building, Heritage Open Day provides a fantastic opportunity to view conservation in action and learn more about the ongoing preservation work on site.

All activities will follow relevant covid guidance.

The project is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, The Architectural Heritage Fund, Wychavon District Council and Platform Housing.
