Temporary road works on Droitwich's A38 which lasted two-and-a-half years finally complete

THE IMPROVEMENT works on the A38 in Droitwich which have been the bane of long-suffering drivers for more than two-and-a-half years are now complete.

Temporary lane closures and traffic management – first put in place on the stretch from Copcut to Pulley Lane in March 2019 – have now been removed and the road is fully re-opened.

Temporary traffic lights and speed limits have snarled up carriageways and delayed drivers’ journeys.

They were supposed to be completed last April but were delayed because of poor weather and the pandemic.




Motorists have also been sceptical as to the effectiveness the new road layout and signals would have on improving traffic flow and reducing congestion.

A Worcestershire County Council spokesperson said: “The council will continue to monitor traffic flow at the junction over the next few weeks on a regular basis.”
