DROITWICH Mews Care Home is appealing for knitters and crocheters to help it with an online Advent calendar being run throughout the month.
There will be hand-made Christmas tree decorations behind each window which will be given away by the home.
For weeks, residents and staff have been busy knitting and crafting the decorations and now have hundreds ready to give away, but they have run into a small problem – the home has been inundated with requests and cannot keep up with demand.
Home Manager Pam Casey said: “We planned to create an online calendar a couple of months ago and have been knitting and crafting in preparation, but we weren’t expecting such an uptake.
“We have lots of people asking for the decorations which is wonderful, but not enough to give one to each person.
“We don’t want to let anyone down. I’m hoping our local community might be able to help.
The decorations are small, knitted collections of wreaths, snowmen, baubles, characters and puddings – anything festive and fun – with a hook and the perfect size to hang on a tree.
Anyone wanting to help can drop decorations off at the home or post them to: Droitwich Mews, Mulberry Tree Hill, Droitwich. WR9 7SS.
