Green-fingered youngsters can 'sow and grow' their own sunflowers at Webbs Garden Centres in Wychbold and Hagley this half-term

GREEN-FINGERED youngsters can ‘sow and grow’ their own sunflowers at Webbs Garden Centres in Wychbold and Hagley this February half-term.

Budding gardeners can decorate their terracotta pots as creatively as they like with acrylic paint pens, using stencils of bees, butterflies and flowers before filling them with compost and planting some seeds.

They then take their sunflowers home to water, feed and watch them grow.

Tips will also be given on how to harvest the seeds to feed the birds once the sunflowers have stopped flowering.

For well-earned, post-activity refreshments each centre has its recently refurbished on-site restaurant – providing the perfect half-term afternoon out!

Sow and Grow runs from today until Friday, the activity is suitable for children aged three and upwards and it costs £5 per pot to take part in.
