Pride of Longbridge Rally set for big return to Cofton Park this weekend

Droitwich Editorial 21st Apr, 2022   0

THE PRIDE of Longbridge Rally returns to Cofton Park tomorrow (Saturday) for the first time since 2019.

Covid cancellations saw a virtual POL event held last year but proud drivers of a multitude of cars built in south Birmingham are relishing getting back to the in-person event.

More than 1,000 vehicles from across the UK and further afield are expected to descend on Longbridge where it all began.

Among the models being displayed were classic Austins, Minis, MGs, Metros, Maestros, Montegos and Allegros.

Enthusiasts and car clubs look forward to the annual event which will also feature stalls, food and drink and other.

The Pride of Longbridge Rally was started in 2005 following the collapse of MG Rover which led to thousands of jobs being lost, and since the inaugural one it has gone from strength-to-strength, welcoming more and more visitors.

It also provides the chance for ex-employees to get together and reminisce about their time at the factory.

Visitors should be aware the car park will be closed for public.

Non-Longbridge cars use Gate 2 for the overflow area.
