Droitwich's Chawson First School to hold 'funday Sunday' for Queen's Platinum Jubilee

A ‘SUNDAY funday’ to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will take place at Droitwich’s Chawson First School from 11am to 2pm on May 22.

During the school’s first big community event since the start of the pandemic there will be a variety of activities, including bouncy castles, inflatable rides, a general and teddy tombola and grand raffle.

There will also be hot food, face-painting, ice cream van, cake and sweet stalls, pampered ponies, a visiting police car, fairground ride, demonstrations by local community groups and a performance by Chawson Choir.

And no school event would be complete without hook-a-duck, sponge a teacher, splat the rat, a coconut shy, beat the goalie and more.

Everyone is welcome to the event which has been organised by four mums who run the PTA and will have something for all ages.

Admission is £1 per family.

The organisers said everyone was thrilled to be holding the event after a difficult few years.

“We can’t wait to welcome all families to come and take part in some traditional games with family and friends.”
