Droitwich Editorial 8th May, 2022   0

WYCHAVON District Council has launched a £150,000 Community Recovery Fund to support services, organisations and groups negatively affected by the pandemic.

The fund will be open until October 2023, although it will close earlier if all the money has been allocated before then.

Funds of between £300 and £10,000 are available to any community group or organisation operating within the area who need help with running costs or meeting increased demand. as a result of the pandemic.

Those applying will be expected to prove the impact the pandemic has had on their organisation.

They will also be asked to prove how the funding would be used as well as the difference the services would make to the people of Wychavon.

Applicants which are not a formally constituted group with its own bank account can partner with another organisation in their area, including a parish council or another community organisation which could administer the funds on their behalf.

Wychavon District Council leader Coun Bradley Thomas said: “Everyone has been affected by the pandemic, and community groups are no different. They do vital work and we’re proud to support them through such a difficult time.”
