WOODLAND View care home has unveiled the winner of their mascot competition, a squirrel called Woody.
Woody is a woodland squirrel holding a purple acorn and was designed by competition winner 13-year-old Evie Pinder, who goes to Droitwich High School.
It is currently on display in Droitwich Library, while eight smaller versions of Woody, named the ‘Woodettes’ are touring around the town, with their stops including cafes, garden centres and churches.
The Woodettes even stopped over at the local hospital for the run up to Easter.
Woodland View’s home manager, Cindy Hawkins said: “Woody is a fantastic mascot for Woodland View and Evie’s design was perfect because she really considered our name and location.
“When we opened in October, we wanted to welcome residents into their new home but also make sure that their connections with the local community were not lost.
“Having a mascot like Woody is a lovely way that we can support our residents to connect with the local community where many of them have lived their whole lives.”
Woodland View is inviting local businesses schools or community organisations to contact them if they would want one of the Woodettes to visit.
