ANIMAL Rebellion protests finished at the Hampton Lovett Muller plant in Droitwich on September 8 in condolence for the Queen’s death.

Across the five days, 13 individuals were arrested and multiple reoccurring arrests for some protesters for criminal damage and aggravated trespass.

Owl, from Animal Rebellion, who lives near Manchester, spent around four action days on the Muller site and was arrested twice.

He said the group did not like being referred to as ‘activists’ and saw themselves as ‘supporters of a cause’.

“Personally speaking, the last thing I want to do is cause criminal damage – the goal is to stop the supply of dairy.”

Across the five days, some members said they received minor physical injuries while protesting due to backlash from the public.

Owl said: “I was on top of an oil tanker in Muller, and I remember thinking how genuinely sorry I am for the disruption we caused.”

A Muller UK and Ireland spokesperson praised the professionalism and determination of the dairy’s employees and added the firm fully met all its obligations to supply customers with the fresh milk they needed throughout.

“This is despite being targeted by a small number who entered our site with cordless drills and knives intent on causing criminal damage, endangering themselves and our employees.”
