The anti-violence bee is set to visit Droitwich

Droitwich Editorial 28th Oct, 2022   0

A BEE made from guns and knives will be visiting Droitwich as part of its extensive tour of the UK.

The ‘anti-violence bee’ is made from weapons collected from the streets of Manchester as part of the Greater Manchester Police departments ‘Forever Amnesty’ campaign, where people were encouraged to surrender their dangerous weapons.

PC Rich Rees, from Droitwich West, said: “Droitwich is a very safe place, and knife crime is not common here.

“But it is a good message to spread with what people may be witnessing on TV, and we can start that conversation.”

The bee will arrive in Droitwich on November 14 and will make its way to Droitwich Spa High School.

It will then reach Victoria Square in the town centre and stay there between 1.30pm and 4.30pm.
