LOOKING back, 2022 has been a year marked with returning to life, difficulties for those rebuilding their confidence and overall – adjusting to the new normal.
Local Government has also faced many challenges following two years of disruption and uncertainty caused by the pandemic.
There have been many positives including the resurgence of the local economy, tourism and visitor numbers, summer blooms and outdoor events.
The Town Council collaborated with Wychavon District Council and helped Droitwich CVS with funding to provide targeted support for those most in need during the pandemic.
This year we have supported and organised several memorable occasions for the community to enjoy including the town festivals, summer band concerts, Lido swimming season, Her Late Majesty – Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee and Beacon Celebrations, the Proclamation for King Charles III and the Christmas lights.
Poignancy and reflection have also featured strongly including the Vigil for Ukraine, The Condolences and National Moment of Reflection for Her Late Majesty and Remembrance Sunday.
Across the spectrum we are proud to say Droitwich Spa has maintained strong Civic Pride and delivered all of this well.
This sense of care and wellbeing for our town as a great place to live and work, with the desire to shape and maintain this for the future resonates with an important strategic cross councils initiative.
The South Worcestershire Development Plan Review comments from Droitwich Town Council has been shaped by residents’ feedback and opinions put forward during November.
This is important towards the future growth of housing and employment land across the wider area of South Worcestershire.
