Worcestershire teenagers warned not to squeeze into toddler swings for 'TikTok trend' after firefighters carry out four rescues in one week

TEENAGERS across Worcestershire have been warned not to copy the current TikTok trend of trying to squeeze themselves into a toddler swing.

It comes as firefighters from Hereford and Worcester have had to free teens from swings too small for them with two incidents – one in Redditch and one in Leominster – in the space of two hours and 20 minutes yesterday.

There have also been two other incidents – one in Worcester at 6.30pm yesterday and one in Redditch on Tuesday.

HWFRS Deputy Chief Fire Officer Guy Palmer said: “Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is urging children not to copy the current TikTok trend of getting into swings that are too small for their size.

“Unfortunately, we have already had to free a number of children from such incidents within the last 24 hours in Leominster, Redditch and Worcester.

“While it may seem a humorous thing to do, these call-outs are taking our resources away from responding to potentially more serious incidents.”
