Calls for 'small chamber of commerce' to help Droitwich businesses

A CALL has been made for a ‘small chamber of commerce’ in Droitwich to help retailers in the town.

The suggestion was made by Coun Richard Morris after several concerns were raised at Monday’s annual town meeting regarding the struggles businesses within the town centre were facing.

Coun Morris, who was acting as a member of the public during the meeting, said a small chamber of commerce or retail group would allow traders to get together to discuss how to best help grow and support business in the town.

“We need a dialogue with a collective group of traders to work together in partnership, otherwise it’s too fragmented.

“Anyone who has the initiative or ability to draw the traders together into a collective group would be welcomed as I think we could then help businesses more effectively.”

What do you think? Would a small chamber of commerce help businesses in the town?
