TRAFFIC has came to a halt on the M5 near Droitwich and Bromsgrove due to a multi-vehicle collision involving an overturned vehicle.
National Highways has reported approximately 7 miles of congestion on approach to the incident. Delays of 50 minutes are expected.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Services from Droitwich and Bromsgrove were called out to the incident at noon involving two vehicles on the M5 northbound between J5 Droitwich and M42 J4A Bromsgrove.
One overturned vehicle was returned to four wheels by the highways agency. Nobody was trapped in the vehicle.
Police and ambulance services were also in attendance.
All lanes have now re-opened following closure.
The event is expected to clear, with normal traffic conditions returning between 13:45 and 14:00 today.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) said: “HWFRS was called out at noon today to a road traffic collision on the M5.
“Crews from Droitwich and Bromsgrove Fire Stations attended the northbound carriageway near junction 5.
“Two vehicles were involved in the collision with one left on its roof and returned to all four wheels by the highways agency.
“No people were trapped and fire crews worked to make the vehicles safe.
“The police and ambulance service also attended with a road closure in place.
“The incident was left with the police and the status changed to pending closure for HWFRS at 12.36pm.”
