A DROITWICH care home has joined in with the autumn harvest festivities to celebrate together with residents, their families and the local community.

Dorset House Nursing Home warmly welcomed residents, their families and locals for a day filled with autumnal festivities in celebration of the Harvest Festival.

The all day event was a celebration of the season and featured vibrant autumnal decorations crafted by residents.

A special child-friendly service from Jane and Sandy at St. Peter’s Church featuring youngsters from Blue Giraffe Nursery kicked off the day.

Later, guests were entertained by Droitwich Ukelele group, followed a harvest-inspired afternoon tea.

Vicky Craddock, chief operating officer at Rotherwood said: “Our care homes cherish the opportunity to host events like the Harvest Festival for the community.

“These gatherings go far beyond the festivities; they embody our commitment to creating vibrant, inclusive spaces.

“It’s not just about celebrating the season, but about nurturing a sense of belonging, where families, residents, and the wider community come together and bridge generations, reminding us of the beauty in intergenerational connections.”

Those who attended the festival were greeted with open arms and encouraged to participate in the various activities.

The Harvest Festival is a show of gratitude for the abundance of food available at the end of harvesting season when crops are collected and the festivities date far back into British history.
