Firefighting staff commended for their decades of loyalty

FIREFIGHTERS in the region are being recognised for their decades of service, two of whom have a combined 80 years of experience across Bromsgrove and Droitwich.

Each of His Majesty The King’s awards in recognition of Long Service and Good Conduct were granted by chief fire officer Jonathan Pryce, with congratulations from the Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire, Mrs Beatrice Grant.

First, Simon Hawkins, a station commander at Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s (HWFRS) Bromsgrove branch was commended for an outstanding 30 years of service.

Kevin Harris, commended for a remarkable 50 years of service. HWFRS. s

And, Kevin Harris, who is currently based at the training centre in Droitwich after serving in Bromsgrove, was commended for half a century with HWFRS.

Lastly, Worcester watch commander, Nathan Preece was commended for an equally impressive 30 years of service.

Chief Fire Officer Jonathon Pryce said: “It was an honour to once again be able to formally recognise some of the fantastic achievements and commitment of our staff and members of the community.”




“All of the accolades given were very well-deserved and many recipients have contributed towards keeping the people of Herefordshire and Worcestershire safe.”

Other representatives will later be commended for their service with Adrian Elliot, current assistant chief fire officer (20 years) being recognised alongside two watch commanders from Redditch – Tristan Lockyer and Neil Teasdale (30 years each).
