VISITORS to Hanbury Hall this winter can experience the folklore and historical events associated with the frosty season.
National Trust’s Winter Folklore exhibition at Hanbury Hall will take attendees through a garden trail focused on exploring the backstories around snowdrops, Shrove Tuesday, birds and weather.
Those who blaze the trail will experience the history of Wassailing, the legend of Jack Frost, the stories of the Gods of winter and weather superstitions.
The exhibition is inspired by the painted staircase by Sir James Thornhill inside Hanbury Hall, which depicts scenes from Greek mythology.
Visitors can experience Winter Folklore from 11am to 3pm on weekdays until Friday, February 9 and 10am to 4pm on weekends. From Saturday, February 10 the hall will be open from 10am to 4pm everyday.
Admission to the exhibition is free. National Trust admission fees apply.
