A DROITWICH based performing arts group for young people will be taking to the Norbury Theatre stage as part of a national festival.
The 12 youngsters from Tribe Theatre will be performing their show ‘Replica’ at the Norbury on February 15 before the taking the show to the competitive Connections festival, run by The National Theatre in London.
Connections festival commissions new plays for young people to perform. The programme brings together UK writers with the ‘theatre makers of tomorrow’.
Replica centres around a school trip, where one of the students has been replaced with an exact replica of themselves.
Although this is possibly a rumour, the children are convinced an imposter is walking among them and they are determined to root them out. It is being described as a mystery about friendship, the nature of truth, and humanity.
The play was created by Titas Halder and is recommended for those aged 12 and over.
The Droitwich show, at The Norbury Theatre kicks off at 6.30pm. There will be other shows in Hereford and Worcester.
Members of the theatre group have been helping to design the marketing, and other young people will be helping out behind the scenes.
