PATIENTS and their carers, families and friends are being asked to share what matters most to them when they are in Worcestershire’s hospitals, to help inform plans for further improving patient experiences and quality of care.
Staff at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust which runs the Alexandra, Kidderminster and Worcestershire Royal hospitals, are encouraging people to have their say by taking part in their annual Big Quality Conversation.
The short anonymous online survey available in 95 languages, asks questions about safety, effectiveness of treatment and the overall experience of hospital care. The results will be used to inform the safety and quality priorities of the Trust.
The presentation of the survey is in ‘easy read’ – making it easier to understand for people with difficulty reading – so the hope is to engage with as many people as possible.
Sarah Shingler, chief nursing officer at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “We really want to engage with our patients and their carers, families and friends to understand what is important to our local community and we will use this information to directly inform the trust’s quality priorities. We will publish these in our annual Quality Account.”
The Quality Account is a document that all NHS hospitals in England must write for the public about the quality of their services. Last year’s account can be found by searching for ‘Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust accounts’.
“This year we are again running our survey for four months and we hope to support a variety of opportunities for engagement and capturing feedback from the public. By completing the survey our local community can help make a real difference and support us in delivering excellent standards of care,” she added.
