DROITWICH Spa secured back-to-back 6-1 victories following a comprehensive win away at struggling Wellington.
A brace from Alex Dugmore put the Saltmen in command before Ben Tilbury, Perry Moss, Josh Hurdman and James Lemon all struck at the Kensal Ground.
The result means Droitwich sit nine points clear at the top of the Hellenic League Division One table, nine points clear of closest challengers Wantage Town.
Despite the final scoreline, Wellington stunned Spa to take the lead on nine minutes as Samuel Griffiths headed past Dom Rogerson from close range.
Spa almost drew level soon after only to see two efforts scrambled clear off the line following a corner.
And the visitors equalised on 23 minutes when Hurdman kept the ball in play and crossed for Dugmore to finish from close range.
Saltmen defender Jay Sauntson then hit the post while Wellington goalkeeper Jack Oxenham denied Hurdman from close range moments before the break.
Spa picked up where they left off after the interval as Nathan Binner blazed over from 10-yards out.
And Oxenham then produced a stunning fingertip save to keep out Cory Rudd’s dipping effort from 30-yards out.
However, from the resulting corner, Dugmore completed the turnaround on 56 minutes when he rose highest to head home his 30th goal of the season.
And Spa extended their lead on the hour mark as Tilbury finished from four-yards out after Hurdman saw his effort cleared off the line.
Droitwich turned the screw in the final 10 minutes as substitute Lemon drew a foul in the box and Moss converted from the penalty spot.
The Saltmen struck again four minutes later when Hurdman’s low effort bounced over the despairing dive of Oxenham.
And Lemon completed the scoring on 86 minutes when he raced clear of the Wellington defence and produced a clinical finish from Matt Fusco’s flick.
Droitwich are next in action against FA Vase semi-finalists Hartpury University in the Marsh Challenge Cup on Saturday, March 8 with kick-off at 3pm at the King George Playing Fields.
