BUSINESSES and community groups are being invited to apply for up to £25,000 in funding to help support projects throughout rural areas in Wychavon.

The Wychavon Rural Fund offers applicants financial support to overcome growth obstacles and to purchase physical equipment or machinery.

Shawn Riley, Head of Economic Development at Wychavon, said: “We look forward to receiving the applications and learning about ideas and projects from local businesses and community groups.”

The fund is offering a total of £245,000 allocated for Wychavon through the Rural England Prosperity Fund.

Currently, two rounds are available to apply for a share in the fund. Expressions of interest for Round One of the funding are invited to be submitted by midday on Monday, June 9.

A complete application needs to be submitted to the council by midday on Monday, July 14. Funding decisions will be made by mid-August 2025.

The Round Two deadline for expressions of interest is midday on Monday, July 7 2025, with full applications to be submitted by midday on Monday, August 18.

Funding decisions for Round Two will be made by the end of September 2025. All projects from both rounds must be completed by Saturday, January 31.

Two projects that previously benefited from the fund are the All Things Wild Park, Evesham, and the Worcester Norton Community Interest Company (CIC).

All Things Wild received just over £18,000 in funding for a Changing Places facility for visitors with additional needs, and to lay out accessible footpaths around the attraction.

The CIC applied for over £24,000 from the fund to support purchasing kitchen appliances, pay for the bar and coffee shop fit-out, and security for The Sergeants Mess Community Hub in Norton.
