OPPORTUNITIES have opened up to join two of Wychavon’s advisory panels to help shape local policy and influence decisions affecting communities across the region.
Applications are sought to join either the communities and funding panel or the town centres panel.
Interested individuals need to have relevant experience, strategic thinking skills and a passion for Wychavon’s future.
For the Communities and Funding Advisory Panel, which meets on Mondays at 2.30pm, applications are welcome from those with experience in community leadership, engagement, funding, or community rights with applicants needing the ability to assess community funding applications.
For the Town Centres Advisory Panel role, which meets on Mondays at 10.30am, applications are welcome from those with knowledge of town centre planning, revitalisation, investment or tourism with applicants needing an interest in all three towns of Droitwich Spa, Evesham and Pershore and an insight into the challenges facing one or more of these towns.
Panel members must be able to commit time to attend meetings (around six per year) and contribute to activities. A connection to or knowledge of the Wychavon district is desirable.
The roles involve working alongside councillors and officers, offering constructive challenge, support and fresh ideas.
While these roles are voluntary, travel expenses and training are provided. The advisory panels support Wychavon’s Executive Board by providing advice and helping to develop policy.
Councillor Richard Morris, leader of Wychavon District Council, said: “We welcome applications for these valuable roles. They offer a great opportunity to help support and influence the Council’s work and decision-making, working alongside our officers, bringing new ideas and offering constructive challenge.”
Applicants must be 18 or over and able to attend at least four meetings a year. The term runs from autumn 2025 to May 31, 2027.
You cannot apply if you are a Wychavon District councillor or employee. Parish or town councillors or employees are welcome to apply if they can offer additional experience beyond their council role.
Call 01386 565517 or visit https://form.jotform.com/231154344010035 to complete an application form. Applications close on September 26, 2025.
