Droitwich Heritage Centre celebrates stellar support since re-opening

DROITWICH Heritage Centre has enjoyed a stellar first few weeks since it reopened, with hundreds visiting the venue.

The new look Droitwich Spa Heritage Centre opened earlier this month following a three-year revamp to improve the visitor experience and expand the museum’s offering.

The reopening came just in time for visitors to enjoy the attractions over the February half term, during which over 400 visitors walked through the doors and saw what the centre had to offer.

A spokesperson for the heritage centre said: “We’ve had an incredible half-term week at the Droitwich Spa Heritage Centre.

“Thank you to everyone who came along and shared such fabulous and very useful feedback.

“It’s been wonderful to hear your thoughts and see so many people enjoying the new space and exhibits.

“If you haven’t visited us yet, why not pop in and see what everyone’s talking about? We’d love to welcome you.”

Redevelopment plans began in 2023, shaped by community consultation, following a successful application to Wychavon Council’s Community Legacy Grant programme.

Funding from Wychavon made it possible to extend the centre into the existing undercroft and reconfigure the internal layout.

The project was delivered with the support of local councillors, volunteers, and professional partners.

Thanks to the dedication of volunteers, the centre was able to remain open throughout most of the works, closing fully for just three weeks.

An official reopening event will take place at the end of March, following a short period of visitor testing and feedback.

The Heritage Centre is open between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, and between 10am and 1.30pm on Saturdays.
