DROITWICH’S expanded weekend Charter Market will be returning after positive feedback from shoppers in the town.
The weekly Droitwich Charter Market in Victoria Square was brought back to the town in 2023 and is held on a Friday.
Since then, whilst the charter market has been well-received, residents and shoppers alike expressed their desire to have a Saturday one, as many people are at work during the week.
Their wish was granted last year as a monthly Saturday market was introduced, and it too gained rave reviews from shoppers.
The weekend market will now be returning in 2026 on the second Saturday of every month.
The first of the weekend markets will be taking place this Saturday (March 14).
Droitwich town councillor Bob Brookes told the Standard that the market has been a big success for the town.
He added: “It’s been fantastic and people seem to be really enjoying it, and gently expanding the market has proved popular on a Saturday with those who couldn’t get to the Friday Charter Market.
“I would really encourage people to support this great local market.”
The Charter Market and weekend event is run by Bluebell Events.
