THERE will be music in the air when The Bel Canto Singers perform their next two upcoming charity concerts.
The Redditch-based choir’s spring concert takes place at 7.30pm on Saturday, April 11, at Bromsgrove Methodist Centre is for raising funds for the church.
Those who go along will be guaranteed a relaxing evening of wonderful music on a spring evening.
The second concert will be the summer concert on June 13 at Parkside in Bromsgrove, raising cash for Redditch charity Where Next, which provides work experience to people with learning disabilities.
Ollie Neale, a choir master and organist at All Saints Church in Bromsgrove, has been the band’s musical director for the group for more than 12 months.
Wendy Quirk is the band’s pianist and often performs solos at their concerts.
The choir prides itself on having a wide and varied repertoire, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The Bel Canto Singers is always looking for new members and highlight the benefits of singing on wellbeing.
Singing is shown to release ‘happy hormones’, strengthen the immune system, increase lung capacity, improve posture and benefits cardiovascular health through deep breathing.
Singing also activates multiple parts of the brain, aiding memory and cognitive function.
The choir welcomes new members, preferably with an ability to read music, but it is not essential.
The choir always ensures rehearsals are full of fun and a warm welcome awaits anyone wanting to join the ranks.
Tickets for the spring concert, which include refreshments, are £10, available from the choir’s website on the door.
