Free sessions to help with mental wellbeing in Worcestershire

Droitwich Editorial 10th Apr, 2026   0

WEEKLY online and in-person mental wellbeing sessions are being held by Worcestershire County Council, writes Andres De Miguel.

The Healthy Worcestershire sessions aim to help people say active, improve their mental wellbeing and connect with others in their local community.

Sessions during this month will also have a weekly theme and each one will help people focus on simple ways to look after their minds.

The week beginning April 6 focused on Pranayama, a simple breathing exercise that helps calm the mind and improve overall wellbeing.

From April 13, the focus was on improving confidence. The session explores the role of confidence for our mental health, addressing common challenges like negative self-talk and perfectionism, and strategies to build confidence.

Sessions during the week beginning April 20 will look at the importance of support networks and how to build one with members of the local community.

The final theme for sessions beginning April 27 will be mindfulness, where the wellbeing coaches will share tips on being present in the moment, being compassionate towards one’s thoughts and emotions and connecting with oneself.

Coun Satinder Bell, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Health and Wellbeing at Worcestershire County Council, said: “Looking after our mental wellbeing is so important, and these sessions make it easy for people to take that first step.

“They are relaxed, welcoming and full of simple ideas that anyone can try. I hope more residents will come along and see the difference it can make.”

Sessions are free to join and open to everyone with no need to book ahead of time.

Those wishing to attend are encouraged to drop in to their nearest venue.

Sessions are run in more than 30 venues across Worcestershire.
